Princess Diana - Lady In Green

“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”

– Princess Diana

Not sure why, perhaps it’s all the hoopla surrounding Prince Williams impending marriage, perhaps it’s the fact that she bears a striking resemblance to my mother, but I’ve had Princess Diana on my mind quite a bit lately. Yesterday, while browsing a second-hand bookshop in downtown Portland, I came across a book entitled, “Who Killed Diana?” Did my thoughts about her lead me to the book (which was lost among a pile of dusty books in no particular order)? Of course, to answer that question, I had to buy the book (despite its seedy title).

I’m not hear to give you a book review. You can imagine what it said in its conspiracy-laden pages. The only thing I gleaned from the book is this: the greatest shame is that due to the suspicious and heart-wrenching circumstances surrounding her death, Princess Diana is remembered as much (if not more) for her tragic death than her beautiful life.

Princess Diana gave not with her wealth or her title, but with her hands and from her heart. And so, in honor of Princess Di, do a random act of kindness. Don’t tell anyone about it. Let it be your quiet gift to the universe. And while you do it, think of her. She deserves it.
