“Things have been tough lately for dreamers. They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore. It’s not dead it’s just that it’s been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists. The dreamer is banished to obscurity. Well, I’m trying to change all that, and I hope you are too. By dreaming, every day. Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds.” ~Waking Life

If you haven’t already, watch Waking Life. If you’re a dreamer, a scientist, a philosopher (or all of the above) and have ever wondered about the meaning of life,  this movie is for you. Interestingly, the director, Richard Linklater, shot the entire film using real actors and sets and then animated over it. Much like the movie blurs the lines between dreams and reality, this technique blurs the line between live action and animation. The film is visually beautiful, but if you want, you can read the script here. It’s just as compelling.
