tips for self-publishing your novel

Write In Color readers, as many of you know, I self-published my book, The Agency: Hollywood Talent, CIA Managed. There’s nothing quite like holding the book you wrote in your hands, but getting there is easier said than done. Aside from writing the book, re-writing the book, editing the book and polishing the book, you have to either a) get the book published by someone else (easier said than done!) or publish it yourself (also a daunting task).

That’s why I’ve decided to share my story of getting The Agency published. I’ve been invited by the Santa Monica Public Library to give a talk about my book and the self-publishing process. I’m very excited to share not only the story behind The Agency (which originated during NaNoWriMo) but also how I got it up on Amazon, in both print and digital formats, Barnes & Noble and the iTunes store (all on my own).

There are many companies out there now that say they’ll publish the book for you, but they charge an arm and a leg. Please join me and learn how to avoid this and other self-publishing pitfalls. I’ll also have signed copies available at a discounted rate.
