Lately, I’ve noticed how easy it is to be on autopilot. And if you’re like me, autopilot includes a highly perfunctory, “No,” in response to many of the questions you’re being asked. That’s because “No” is easy. It doesn’t require any thought. It doesn’t require any action. In fact, it requires exactly the opposite. No requires no[thing].
Yesterday, instead of saying no, I said yes. I said yes as freely as in the past I would have said no. And as a result, I tried bison, pet a goat, planted a blueberry bush, and went to bed extremely happy and inspired. I had an adventure. A small one, yes, but an adventure nonetheless. And on the way, I connected with my loved ones and my life in a way “No” simply doesn’t allow. Most importantly, saying yes inspired me to recruit a community.
I invite you to join me in 100 Days of Yes, starting tomorrow, April 15th 2014. By the time we’re done, we won’t be the same people. And our lives will never be the same. So, what’s your answer? If you decide to join me, document your journey on instagram using the hashtag #100DaysofYes. Let’s see just how much yes can achieve, and how far one yes can travel.
