It’s never too late to be what you may have been

George Eliot Quote-01Wise words from George Eliot: “It’s never too late to be what you may have been.”

Are you feeling stuck? Unfulfilled? Like you’re wasting your life and potential?

Change. Change now.

As a resume writer, I work with clients from all walks of life. Some discover and realize their dream careers at 20. Others are still searching at 50. What matters is that you never give up on the idea that 1) you have a precise set of talents, experiences and passions that make you valuable and 2) with some hard work, you’ll find the right company, job and/or entrepreneurial opportunity to take advantage of the unique value you bring to the table.

Of course, transformation isn’t easy. It requires thought, diligence, reflection, support, and of course, perseverance. But it’s attainable. And being happy, valued, utilized and compensated at work isn’t something that just happens to other people. It can happen to you. Just be honest with yourself about what you want, and work hard until you get there.

Network. Navigate. Explore. Connect. These are the things that lead to results in the digital world. Get on LinkedIn. Go to networking events. Connect with friends from college, your neighborhood, organizations that support your interests. Connect, and then when the right opportunity comes, act. Just do it. You won’t regret it. It’s never too late to be what you may have been.
